It's a journey of self-discovery and empowerment that we wholeheartedly champion.

So let's look at some signs to watch out for, and how to start the journey of building up some tips to start fostering self worth.

Signs of Low Self-Worth: A Gentle Self-Check

1. Negative Self-Talk:

  • This one is a big one - that inner critic or mean girl, we need to learn to turn the volume down on her. Listen to the whispers in your mind. Are they uplifting or filled with self-criticism? Negative self-talk can be a subtle sign that your self-worth is in need of nurturing. Ask yourself whose voice is this? Chances are it will not be your own. The first step to turning down the volume is understanding that it's not you.

2. Over-Apologizing:

  • Do you find yourself saying sorry even when it's not your fault? Over-apologizing can be an indicator that you're minimizing your presence and not fully embracing your worth. If you've harmed someone, atonement is important, otherwise watch how many times you apologize for things, how many times you actually say "sorry" when there is nothing to feel sorry about.

3. Fear of Rejection:

  • A constant fear of rejection or hesitation to voice your opinions may be rooted in a belief that your thoughts and feelings are not valid—a common thread in the fabric of low self-worth. But the only person that can reject you is, well you. Other than that, it's divine redirection. If someone doesn't appreciate what you have to say, awesome! Now you know. The goal is never to dim our light or our sparkle for fear of what another might say, or think. Not even chocolate has a 100% success rate.

Navigating the Path to Self-Worth:

1. Use Self-Compassion as the Compass:

  • Begin by treating yourself with the same kindness you'd extend to your best friend, or your grandmother. Acknowledge that you're navigating a complex journey, and it's okay not to have all the answers. Remind yourself that you're learning, expanding, exploring.

2. Mindful Self-Reflection:

  • Take moments to reflect on your thoughts and feelings without judgment. See the thoughts, become the observer of them. Mindful self-reflection allows you to identify patterns, understand triggers, and gently guide yourself toward positive change. It's mind blowing when we sit in awareness vs judgement what comes up. Then step into curiosity. Why do I feel this way about myself? Who hurt me? Whose voice is this? What needs are not getting met that I need to meet within myself?

3. Embrace Imperfections:

  • Remember, you're beautifully human. Flawed. Imperfect. We all are. Embrace your imperfections with compassion. They are the brushstrokes that make your life a unique masterpiece. If we were all the same, life would be pretty boring. There is no one else like you. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE LIKE YOU! That's pretty special. You are here for a reason, if you had no reason, no value - you wouldn't be here anymore. You do.

4. Set Realistic Boundaries:

  • Learning to say no is an act of self-love. Establishing realistic boundaries not only protects your well-being but also communicates your self-worth to the world. Try saying no to 95% of the things that you normally say yes to and explore the resistance. Why do you feel it? really dig. Ah interesting, I'm afraid to say no to the soccer moms invite because .... I am afraid to say no at work to work extra hours because .... I am afraid to say no to my partner because .....

5. Celebrate Small Victories:

  • Acknowledge and celebrate even the smallest victories. Each step forward, no matter how tiny, is a testament to your strength and resilience. I mean it. Celebrate it! We tend to reserve celebrations for milestones or birthdays so our nervous system is conditioned to not celebrate ourselves. Change that up. Celebrate each day as its a new opportunity to be a blessing in someone's life.

6. Surround Yourself with Positivity:

  • Choose to be around people and environments that uplift you. Positive surroundings can be like lotion for your soul, nurturing the growth of your self-worth. When we are around people who make us feel less than, we go into this comparative, competitive mode. The only people you should ever compete with, is who you were yesterday.

7. Seek Support:

  • There is strength in seeking support. Whether from friends, family, or a therapist, opening up about your feelings can provide a compassionate space for healing. Our family sometimes doesn't know to support us because they are fearful for us. They also might not know how to help you because they themselves haven't mastered it themselves. Find people who have. Who have been down and trampolined back up.

8. Daily Affirmations:

  • Start and end your day with affirmations that reinforce your worth. Remind yourself of your strengths, your unique qualities, and the love you deserve. This is how our brain learns - it's the foundation of Worthy Wands. There is some serious science to this as well. That's why all our pieces are engraved with positive affirmations.

Be Gentle

In the gentle unfolding of your journey to self-worth, let compassion be your guide. Understand that healing is a process, not a destination. Embracing your crown is not a grand proclamation but a series of compassionate choices you make every day. So, as you walk this path, be kind to yourself, celebrate your authenticity, and let the tender journey to self-worth be a testament to the beautiful, resilient soul that you are.

Sending you all my love,

Amanda - Chief Worthiness Officer - Worthy Wands
