Let's start out by defining what self-worth is. Everyone has value and should be treated as though they do.
What is self-worth?
Self-worth is the measure of how much you value yourself. Notice I said YOU. You determine your self-worth. You decide if you're worthy or not, but society has led us to believe that it's something that we seek and source from outside of us. It is sourced from within.
It is your ability to recognize that you are a good person with feelings, beliefs, and emotions. Your self-worth dictates how much energy you have for yourself and others, and your self-worth can be high or low depending on what happens in your life.
What does it mean to have low self-worth?
If you’re feeling like you have low self-worth, it can result in a number of negative feelings. For example:
Depression. Leading to thoughts like “I’m not worth anything” or “I have nothing to offer,” these could lead to feelings of despair and hopelessness that trigger depression.
Anxiety. If your lack of self-worth leads you to think about what other people would say about the things you do or don't do, this may cause anxiety about whether people will judge or criticize you for being different from them. This fear can cause physical symptoms like sweating and trembling as well as emotional symptoms such as panic attacks and paranoia (e.g., fearing that everyone is talking about you). Rarely if ever do people talk about us as much as we think they do. ( they are too busy worrying the same thing that you are worried about. Who is talking about them.)

Why is self-worth important?
Self-worth is important because it affects how you feel about yourself, and as a result how you show up in the world. If you have high self-esteem, then you tend to be more confident and successful in your life. When people have low self-esteem, they tend to be less confident and experience more negative emotions like anxiety and depression than those who have higher levels of self-worth.
Self-worth also affects how we interact with others. People with low levels of self-esteem tend to be more susceptible to depression and anxiety due to social isolation or bullying from other people in their lives. In contrast, those with high levels of self-esteem are able to form healthy relationships with others outside themselves so that they can get the support they need when times get tough or if something unexpected happens in their lives.
How is self-worth different from self-esteem?
Self-worth is about your value as a human being. It's how you feel about yourself as an individual, and it has nothing to do with what other people think of you.
Self-esteem, on the other hand, is about your value in relation to others—how much they like or respect you. It's based on whether they think your opinions are valuable, if they want to be friends with you and if they see themselves as better than or equal to you.
What are some ways you can improve your self-worth?
There are many ways that you can improve your self-worth, and you can start today by being kinder to yourself, grateful for what you have, patient with yourself and others, honest with yourself and forgiving of your mistakes.
Being open with who YOU are is important too. How will people know how to treat you if they don't know you?
There are many ways that we as individuals can help ourselves improve our self-worth by being more open minded and curious about ourselves as well as other people around us. Being thoughtful helps us gain knowledge which will allow us to become better versions of ourselves!
You are worth all the love, kindness and respect in the world. You need to show yourself that love, kindness and respect before you can give it to others. Start with you and pretty soon you’ll be giving it away like it’s going out of style!
In case no one has told you, you're worthy of this kind of life. You were born worthy and nothing you do, or have done in the past invalidates your worthiness. Only you can do that.
Sending you all my love,
