I didn't want to live anymore

Welcome to a new series called, stories behind the Wand.

You'll be hearing from our customers, not us – through their heartfelt, sometimes funny, and often heartwarming stories. You'll hear how our wands have helped someone, and you’ll see that it's a very personal and meaningful product, and is so much more than a piece of jewelry. If you’d like to share your story with us, please email us at hello@worthywands.com.

The pandemic really did a number on me.

I lost a lot. Everything that I loved was suddenly unavailable.

I couldn't travel. I couldn't work. I couldn't go to the gym. I was fighting with my wife. My kids were stressed.

... and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. I wouldn't get out of bed unless it was to shower and grab some food. I ate in bed. I lost myself in my iPad binge-watching shows. This went on for months. I was a shell of a man.

I was gifted a Warrior Wand, and I thought, it's nice but I am not going anywhere so what's the point of putting it on. It sat in its packaging for a few more months.

One Sunday morning, my son opened it up and said, you don't like it? Can I look at it? He took the black necklace out of the pouch and a card fell out.
It's when my son started reading it to me that I felt something stir on the inside, it was like a little light just got switched on.

Dad, it says you are a Worthy Warrior. The minute that those words hit my ears, I knew that it was time to figure out what that meant.

My son put that necklace on me over a year ago, and I haven't taken it off, not even for a day, since.

This necklace, this reminder, that card reminded me that while there are many things I can't control, being here for my family was something I could.

And so I am.
Thank you seems a little light for the impact that you've made in our lives, but that's what I have to offer you today. Thank you. For creating this and for giving men like me who didn't know they needed the reminder, that a Warrior lives within each of us and it's something we can activate at any given moment.

Josh
